Privacy Policy

SWQuiz is a free, fan-made daily Star Wars game run by one person. It is built to collect as little as possible: there are no accounts, no sign-up, and you never have to give a name, an email address, or any other personal details to play.
The short version
- No accounts, no passwords, no personal information.
- Your progress and streaks are stored in your own browser.
- Finished games are reported anonymously so the game can show how everyone else did.
- Two analytics tools help keep the site working and find rough edges.
- There are no ads, and nothing here is ever sold.
What is stored in your browser
The game keeps your daily progress, your streak, and a randomly generated device ID in your browser's local storage. The device ID is a random string — it is not linked to a name, an email address, or anything else about you, because SWQuiz never has those. It only exists so a result is not counted twice.
Clearing your browser's site data for SWQuiz erases all of it, including your streak. Playing on another device or browser starts a fresh, unconnected history.
Game results
When you finish a quiz, your browser sends the outcome to the SWQuiz server: whether you got it, how many guesses it took, which day's quiz it was, and the random device ID. That is stored in the game's database and used only in aggregate — for example, the chart showing how many players solved today's frame on each guess. It is not tied to a person, and it is not shared with anyone.
Analytics
SWQuiz uses two analytics tools, both to understand how the site is used, never to identify individual players:
- Vercel Analytics — aggregate, cookie-free page view and performance measurement across the site.
- Microsoft Clarity — anonymized session replays and heatmaps on the game page, used to spot confusing parts of the interface. Clarity records interactions such as clicks and scrolling along with general device and browser information. See the Microsoft Privacy Statement for how Microsoft handles that data.
Cookies
SWQuiz sets no cookies of its own for players — there is no login to remember and no advertising to target. The only cookies that may be set come from Microsoft Clarity, described above.
Hosting and infrastructure
The site runs on Vercel, its database and puzzle images live on Supabase, and images are delivered through Cloudflare. Like every website, those providers process ordinary technical information such as your IP address and browser type in their server logs in order to deliver the page to you.
Links to other sites
SWQuiz links out to Ko-fi and X. Once you follow one of those links you are on someone else's site, and their privacy policy applies there.
Children
The game is family friendly and collects no personal information from anyone, children included — there is simply nothing to hand over in order to play.
Changes to this policy
If any of the above changes, the updated policy will be posted on this page with a new date at the top.
